Jonagold produces best fruits when crossed with two other varieties. It has a red skin on a yellow background with a lovely balance of sharpness and sweetness. Most apple trees need another variety to help pollinate and produce fruits. Sulphate of potash applied a few times a year helps flowering and therefore fruiting.
